BASRaT Version 2 Site

We hope you have spotted and like the new site and design.

The old site was functional but had some legacy technology which prevented us from providing lots of powerful functionality. You will find the experience richer in modern browsers (ie11,ffx,chrome).

Some of the new features are :

  • Responsive Design

    • This new site should be responsive and provide a better experience on different screen and device sizes. However achieving this is a complex achievement and we may have missed some areas. We would welcome feedback. If reporting any issues please detail the browser and version (help/about) and include any errors if present. Thanks!
  • Member Job submission
    • Members can now submit jobs for approval by the committee. This should streamline the process and add a standard template ensuring more accurate details are provided.
  • Public visitor signin
    • We have provided the ability to keep in touch with non-members who are interested in BASRaT.
  • Enhanced Member profile
    • A richer and more reactive experience when updating member details.
  • Greater Committee/Admin functionality
    • This new site provides more features for BASRaT committee members to make their administration tasks easier.
  • Microsoft Cloud (Azure) Hosting
    • Our previous ISP (after initially being quite reliable) had become unreliable and provided some poor service. We remidied this in March 2015 when we moved the site to Microsoft Azure. This should provide greater reliabilty and more scability for the future.

We would welcome feedback

We have lots of ideals for new features which will help inform public visitors on our Association and Member content which will add additional value to a BASRaT membership.

Some of our current thoughts are:

  • Online Membership approval process
    • With becoming an accredited register a higher standard is required with respect to member eligibility. As you maybe aware there are several documents which BASRaT are required to verify before granting membership. We are proposing to add features to allow members(or provisional members) to submit documentation electronically which should streamline. And standardize the renewal process.
  • Forums
    • discussion forums
  • Improved Search functionality
