Support for Sport Rehabilitators affected by misogynistic behaviour

Misogynistic, sexist and sexual comments and behaviour towards healthcare professionals is unacceptable. Female Sport Rehabilitators have recently received appalling abuse from football supporters which BASRaT condemns.

As the UK regulator and professional association for Sport Rehabilitators, BASRaT is working on strategies to aid our Registrants including one on one support alongside devising training and advice materials, creating working groups for peer support and taking international action.

As part of an International Association and working community, BASRaT will liaise with WFATT, the international working body, and Associations of WFATT in Ireland, Canada and America and across the globe to devise strategies and support.

BASRaT will look to work with other UK governing bodies to support Sport Rehabilitators, Physios and other affected professionals to help address and stamp out sexist and misogynistic behaviour. Sport is a place for everyone.

We are here to support all registrants, if you experience behaviour of this nature, please contact us for support and advice.
